To rent a unit, you’ll need:
- One form of current, government-issued photo ID (such as a driver’s license or passport)
- A valid phone number
- An emergency contact
At the time of rental, you’ll pay:
- Your first month’s rent
- A non-refundable $24 administrative fee
Yes you can! Renting a storage unit online is convenient, efficient, and secure. Our website utilizes a protected connection to safeguard your personal information throughout the process. Choose your preferred unit size, then digitally review and sign the rental agreement. This streamlined process ensures everything is handled quickly and easily. After completing your online rental, visit our office during business hours. Our manager will guide you to your unit, provide a gate access code, and share all necessary move-in instructions. If you are unsure about your unit size, simply contact us. We are happy to walk you through the process or help you reserve a unit over the phone.
All of our rental agreements are on a month-to-month basis with a one-month minimum. You rent with us only as long as you need the space.

Climate-controlled spaces are heated and cooled depending on outside temperature and humidity. Climate-controlled spaces protect your belongings from extreme temperatures. These spaces do not provide constant internal temperature and humidity control. Temperature and humidity may fluctuate due to changes in outside temperature and humidity. Climate-controlled units are inside units and are accessed through an outside door and down a hallway, which also protects your belongings from dust.
A drive-up unit is a also a ground level unit that allows you to park directly at your unit door for easy loading and unloading, ideal for heavy or bulky items.
You have access 7 days a week, 365 days a year from 6:00 am to 9:00 pm
We offer several easy payment methods:
- In Person: Pay by cash, check, or major credit card at our office
- By Mail: Send check or money order (include your unit number; please don’t mail cash)
- AutoPay: Set up automatic monthly payments through our manager. On a monthly basis, we will automatically charge your credit card for you. Setting up Auto Pay ensures that you are never late for your payment and will not accrue a late fee.
- Online: Make secure payments through our website’s “Payment Portal”
**When paying online it may take 48 hrs for your payment to process. If your account is past due and your unit is locked due to non-payment, your unit could be inaccessible for up to 48 hours depending on when payment was made.
For safety reasons, please do not store:
- Hazardous or flammable materials
- Explosives, corrosives, or toxic substances
- Food or perishable items
- Gate Hours: When you can enter the property using your personal gate code.
- Office Hours: When our on-site manager is available to assist with questions, payments, or supplies.
Yes! You can purchase a new lock at our office or bring your own. Only you have the key or combination to your unit.
No, only you (and anyone you authorize with your key) have access to your storage unit.
No problem! Contact our on-site manager at 434-823-2340 during office hours for assistance.
Yes! We offer loading carts in our climate-controlled buildings for your convenience. Please return them to the hallway when finished so other customers can use them too.
Some areas of our facility are better suited for large vehicles. Please contact our manager in advance if you’ll be using a tractor-trailer or oversized moving truck.
Yes! We carry a full line of materials including:
- Small, medium, and large boxes
- Packing paper, bubble wrap, and tape
- Mattress, sofa, and chair covers
- Other moving essentials

After completing your rental and signing the required paperwork, be sure to talk with the Facility Manager to confirm your unit number and receive a gate code for entry. Keep in mind that access may not be available right away and could be delayed if the rental is completed outside regular business hours.
Yes, all tenants must have insurance coverage for stored items. You may:
- Use your existing homeowner’s or renter’s insurance (just provide a copy of your insurance declaration page), or
- Purchase affordable coverage through our Storsmart Insurance program at move-in
Motor vehicles are to be parked in the space and cannot be towed onto the facility. (Exception is a trailer – such as boat trailer)
Only the owner of the vehicle may rent the parking space. The following documentation is needed:
1. Current license plates
2. Copy of the registration
3. Insurance issued in their name
*No maintenance may be performed at the facility
